Delivery and pickup

Pickup at our bookstore

Delivery time for pickup orders:

If you order a book from a Dutch publishing house on a weekday before eleven o’clock at night you can pick up your delivery the following day (mind our opening days and hours).

Having your order delivered in the Netherlands

Delivery time:

• Dutch publishing house:
o If you order a book from a Dutch publishing house on a weekday before eleven o’clock at night it will be delivered the following day.
o Note: delivery on Saturday is conditional to when you placed your order on Friday and the location of delivery. Additionally, no deliveries are made to post office boxes on Saturdays.

• Foreign publishing house:
o Delivery time for books from foreign publishing houses vary from 1 to 3 weeks.
o We maintain a delivery time of a maximum of 30 days.

Over 85.000 book titles can be delivered within 24 hours. Whenever a book has a longer estimated delivery time than 24 hours, you will be notified of this before finalizing your order in our online store. Your order will always be delivered within 30 days after placing the order. If we fail to be able to do so*, then you will receive a notification from us within 30 days after placing the order. When this is the case, you have the right to cancel the order free of cost.

* E.g. because the order is out of stock, or because an order cannot or can only be partially processed.

As soon as the order has been registered at PostNL you will receive an email containing a track & trace code, allowing you to keep track of your order.

If you’ve ordered more than one book and one or more books cannot be delivered the next day, then we’ll immediately send the book(s) that are deliverable within 24 hours, and ship the remaining ones as soon as possible. My Bookstore will perform the shipping of the partial order free of charge.

Having your order delivered outside of the Netherlands?

If you wish for the item to be shipped abroad, you must add the number of days for shipping to that destination (as stated by PostNL) on top of the delivery time as stated in our online store. More precise delivery times can be checked here (https://www.postnl.nl/en/mail-and-parcels/parcels/international-parcel/) . Orders sent to foreign countries do not carry a track & trace code.

All orders with delivery within The Netherlands and Belgium are shipped for free. For orders outside the Netherlands and Belgium, but within the EU the shipping costs are €13.85.

Delivery with PostNL

We deliver your order with PostNL as a standard package or as a mailbox package with a track and trace number. Within 24 hours you will receive an email containing your 3S-number. You can use this number to track your orders shipping trajectory on the website of PostNL. For preordered books you will only receive your 3S-number once the book is officially released.

Standard packages are generally delivered later in the day than mailbox packages. The mailman will always make two delivery attempts after which the package can be picked up from the nearest post office for a period of 3 weeks. If you are not present the mailman will also attempt to deliver the package to your neighbours.

Cancelling an order?

If it concerns an order that you were going to pick up in the bookstore then inform us as soon as possible, to prevent us from ordering this book specifically for you.

If it concerns a home delivery order please contact our customer service as soon as possible by emailing klantenservice@mybookstore.eu or calling 020-2619659.

When you place an order on our online store it is immediately redirected to our supplier (CB Logistics). Because this is a closed system we are unable to cancel most orders. However, if you contact our customer service as soon as possible we might be able to see if we can prevent the order from going through. If we cannot cancel it you will receive your order at the specified delivery address and you may return your order.

If you’ve entered the wrong delivery address the instructions above also apply.

Returning an order made on the online store

With your purchase through mybookstore.eu you have entered an agreement with us. You can withdraw from this agreement in the following three ways:

1. By notifying us in writing or by email and returning your order
2. By using the return form that is provided with your order
3. By emailing or mailing the withdrawal form to us within fourteen days of your order. More information on the withdrawal form can be found below:

The total cost of your order, including any shipping costs of the order, will be deposited on your bank account. However, you’re responsible for the shipping costs to return the order. Make sure you keep the proof of your return shipment. May the return package not arrive, then we can refer to the track & trace code on this proof of shipment.

Right of withdrawal

Right of withdrawal is ruled out for the following items:

- eBooks and audiobooks: a download of an eBook or an audiobook is not able to be recalled as soon as the payment has been processed.
- Personalized books: a book that is composed per the customer’s request.

What is right of withdrawal?

Right of withdrawal, also called the right of dissolution, is a regulation concerning online stores.

For orders made through our online store, My Bookstore has a fourteen business day return period. This fourteen business day period starts the day after the order has been received by the customer. During this period the customer has the right of withdrawal. This constitutes that the costumer has the possibility, without any responsibility from their side, to return the received items.

The customer can return the item by mentioning his/her name, phone number and order number to:

After withdrawal from the agreement the total cost of the order will be paid back within 14 days to the customer by My Bookstore. The shipping costs of the return shipment are the responsibility of the customer.

During the return period the buyer is requested to handle the order and its packaging carefully. The customer shall only unpackage or use the product to the extent required to be able to evaluate whether to keep or return the item. If the customer wishes to make use of the right of withdrawal, the order shall be returned with all its original contents, and original packaging to the specified address according to the guidelines listed below.

Instructions for return of your order and withdrawal from agreement:

You have the right to return your order within fourteen days without any specified reason and to withdraw from the agreement.

The return period expires fourteen days after the day after receiving the order for agreements:

“where the customer or a designated third party, who is not the carrier, receives the order in a good condition.”

Or

“where the customer ordered several items that were shipped separately, where the customer or a designated third party, who is not the carrier, receives the order in a good condition”

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must contact us, the Amsterdams Online boek en Mediahuis B.V., operating under the name My Bookstore, Spaklerweg 16 C, 1096 BA Amsterdam, 020-2619659, klantenservice@mybookstore.eu with an unambiguous statement and alert us that you wish to withdraw from the agreement. This unambiguous statement can be sent in writing through mail or by email.

In order to hold true to the fourteen business day withdrawal period you must send your statement before the withdrawal period expires.

Consequences of withdrawal

If you withdraw from the agreement, you will receive all payments that you have made so far without delay, and at the latest in fourteen days after we’ve been notified of your intent to withdraw from the agreement. This includes shipping costs for the cheapest standard shipping; if you selected an expedited or more expensive shipping option you will not be refunded the shipping costs. We refund you with the same payment method you used for your original transaction.

We reserve the right to delay the refund until we have received the returned items, or until you have indicated that the order has been returned, whichever occurs first. (NL L 304/84 Publication of the European Union 22.11.2011).

You must return the order, without delay, but not later than fourteen days after notifying us of your intent to withdraw from the agreement, to us. You are on time if you return the order before the fourteen day period expires.

The direct costs of returning an order, parcel post through PostNL, are € 6,75 and will be your responsibility to pay.

Delivery digital products

Immediately after completing the order, you will receive a confirmation with the details of your order via the e-mail address provided.

E-books and other digital products are usually visible in your account within 15 minutes. You can then download the product immediately.

If you have not created an account, you will receive your digital product via a link. You can download the product from that link.

If you have not received a confirmation or e-mail with a link to your digital product within the hour, please contact My Bookstore customer service immediately via info@mybookstore.eu or 020-2619659.
